About Isla's Journey

Isla’s Journey began with a story of unimaginable challenge and unwavering courage. After four rounds of IVF, Ashley and her family were overjoyed to be expecting twins. But at just 24 weeks, their world changed when Ashley went into spontaneous labour. Their first daughter, Esme, was born sleeping—a precious soul who left an indelible mark on their hearts. Fifty minutes later, Isla arrived, weighing just 655g, fighting for every breath.

Isla’s strength became a beacon of hope, inspiring her family to find purpose in giving back. In those early days, as updates to loved ones became overwhelming, Ashley created a small online group to share Isla’s progress—an act that blossomed into the Facebook page, Isla’s Journey. What started as a way to keep friends and family informed has since grown into a registered charity, dedicated to supporting thousands of families through their NICU journeys and partnering with NICU units across the UK.

Driven by Isla’s courage and the desire to help others, Isla’s Journey continues to grow—offering comfort, community, and hope to families when they need it most. With each new day, the charity aspires to reach even more families, both in the UK and around the world.
